Japan: Tourists Duty-free Procedures Will Be Electronic in 2020
According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, starting in April 2020, Japan will establish a new mechanism for duty-free shops to process information such as passport information, purchased goods, store names and purchase dates of visitors to Japan into electronic data. When the tourists leave the country, they can confirm the purchase record and check the baggage items according to the passport information through the special terminals installed at the customs.
In other words, the present paper slips gluing to the passports after foreign tourists shop in Japan's duty-free shops will be gone forever after April 2020~
Chile, Argentina: Unified Visa Policy for Chinese Tourists
Recently, Chilean and Argentine foreign ministers signed an agreement in Santiago, Chile, deciding that the two countries will implement a unified visa policy for Chinese tourists to facilitate their travel to the two countries. According to this agreement, from January 2019, Chinese citizens can travel to both countries with only one tourist visa to either Chile or Argentina!
