In order to thoroughly improve the quality of foreign-related services, the Chengdu Municipal Government initiated the "Home in Chengdu" Project for foreigners in 2016, which aims to better promote Chengdu Culture and narrate Chengdu's stories through the hosting of a wide range of cultural exchanges and folk customs experiential activities. The "Home in Chengdu - Story on Archives" event was specially hosted by the Chengdu Municipal Archives Bureau, Chengdu Municipal Archives and Chengdu Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office. The event utilized the International Archives Day as an opportunity to promote Chengdu's historical heritage in foreign opening-up efforts, tell the city's stories of international exchanges and humanities, drive the robust growth of archival endeavors and assist in the exposure of the city brand.
