2022 World Table Tennis Championships to Be Held in Chengdu

On April 22, 2019, at the International Table Tennis Federation Congress, Chengdu won the bid to host the 56th World Table Tennis Championships in 2022.This is another world table tennis top event that held in Chengdu after the 2018 Women's Table Tennis World Cup and the 2019 Men's and Women's Table Tennis World Cup.

The World Table Tennis Championships was founded by the ITTF. The event and the Olympic Games and the World Cup are considered as the three major events in the world of table tennis. The event is held every two years, with odd-numbered years as individual events and even-numbered years as team competitions. Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Suzhou have all hosted the World Table Tennis Championships. In the 2022's 56th World Table Tennis Championships, it is expected that a total of 64 teams (32 male teams and 32 female teams) from different countries and regions will be attended.
