Giant Panda National Park Administration Chengdu Branch Unveiled
On January 15, 2019, the seven branches of Giant Panda National Park Administration in Sichuan Province held a launching ceremony in the relevant cities (prefectures). The Chengdu Branch of the Giant Panda National Park Administration was unveiled in Dujiangyan, marking the pilot work of Sichuan Giant Panda National Park System has entered a new stage of full-scale advancement.
The Chengdu Branch of the Giant Panda National Park Administration is established based on the Longxi-Hongkou National Nature Reserve. It is responsible for projects related to the regional system pilot work of the Giant Panda National Park in Dujiangyan, Chongzhou, Dayi and Pengzhou. The Longxi-Hongkou National Nature Reserve is a forest and wild animal nature reserve that was officially named and approved by the State Council in 1997, which is mainly engaged in protecting endangered wild animals such as giant pandas, golden monkeys, takins, etc., as well as the forest ecosystem.
