China's First Panda-Themed Library Opened

On April 23, 2019, on the occasion of the 150-year anniversary of the scientific discovery of giant panda, China's first panda-themed library opened in Chengdu, officially named as Panda Road Branch of Chengdu Public Library. The library covers an area of 382.4㎡ and has over 23,000 books of 9,482 kinds, among which over 2,000 books of 111 kinds are about giant panda.

Currently, appointment is needed to visit the library and in the future the library will be open based on the demands on a planned basis. Meanwhile, the panda-themed library will organize a "Panda Forum" to invite experts of giant panda research or global panda lovers for exchanges from time to time.
