Chengdu-Yibin Expressway Expected for Completion and Opening in 2020
As part of the inter-province highway connecting Chengdu and Guiyang, Gulin County of Luzhou to Jinsha Expressway (in Sichuan) has been approved by the Department of Transportation of Sichuan Province. Upon its completion, it will become the most convenient highway between Chengdu and Guiyang, one hour shorter than the present running time. At the same time, Chengdu-Yibin Expressway construction is fully underway regarding the superstructure of bridges. It is expected that the route will be completed and opened to traffic next year. By then, it will take only 80 minutes to go from Chengdu to Yibin. Chengdu-Yibin Expressway is one of the southwardexpressway projects in Sichuan Province, with a total length of 157 kilometers, an expressway of six lanes in two directions, and a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The expressway starts in Chengdu and ends in Yibin via Jianyang, Meishan, Neijiang and Zigong. This will also bethe most convenient passage between the Chengdu Plain Economic Zone and the Southern Sichuan Economic Zone.
