German Innovation Works and China-German Pujiang Innovation Center to Establish in Pujiang

  On December 11, 2018, the Global Innovation Summit of 2018 was held in the Chengdu Sino-German (Pujiang) SME Cooperation Zone. Sponsored under a concerted effort between the InnoEU innovation platform and Germany's Institute for Automation and Industrial Technology (IAIT), the event was comprised of segments such as hi-tech enterprise and project roadshow, matchmaking between companies, signing of project contracts and speeches from big-name guests. The forum saw participation from 12 German innovation platforms such as the Humboldt-Innovation GmbH (HI) of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Berlin Startup Expo, more than 20 hidden champions of Germany like Henkel AG & Company and Würth Group, and over 300 investors and investment firms from places like Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Chengdu, as well as representatives from relevant enterprises, institutions of higher education and organizations. 


  A strategic cooperation agreement was inked between Pujiang County of Chengdu City, the InnoEU innovation platform and Berlin Startup Expo, entailing the affiliated parties to jointly host an overseas start-up firm expo in 2019 and to jointly set up the German Innovation Works and China-German Pujiang Innovation Center. During the summit, the InnoEU Innovation Competition also took place, and 14 innovation enterprises from Germany and two of their counterparts from China participated in the final roadshow.
