In recent days, German exhibition and event organizer Messe München hosted a press conference in Chengdu to announce that the IE expo Chengdu of the Chinese edition of its IFAT, the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste and Raw Materials Management, will be held in Chengdu. At the same time, a long-term strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Messe München and the Western China International Expo City. The first IE expo Chengdu will take place inside the Western China International Expo City between June 27 and 29, 2019.

Messe München’s IFAT is the world’s foremost and most important international and professional expo for the latest products, technologies and services in the fields of water, sewage management, waste management and recycling, and natural energy, and is held biennially in Munich. Of IFAT’s family of affiliated events, IFAT China has already risen as the world’s second largest environmental protection exhibition behind the main IFAT, as well as Asia’s biggest. The first IE expo Chengdu will primarily feature the four key areas of water, atmosphere, solid waste and soil, and leading enterprises and technologies from both home and abroad will be selected and invited to exhibit. Other than arranging national exhibitor delegations, focus will also be placed on the collective showcase of solutions dealing with treatment of rural village sewage and livestock and poultry wastes. The International Environment Industry Summit Forum, which is anticipated to be attended by around a thousand participants, is to be held concurrently with the fair and will be comprised of the main forum alongside sub-forums concerning a multitude of areas such as water, atmosphere, solid waste and soil. Domestic and foreign environmental protection experts, academicians and distinguished businesspersons will be invited to speak and communicate at the forums.
