"2018 Tianfu Financial Index" Officially Released in Chengdu Yesterday
On October 25, 2018, the "2018 Tianfu Financial Index" was formally announced in Chengdu. From the scores of the index it can be seen that Chengdu's overall financial competitiveness is the best in central and western China, and placed sixth in the nation just behind Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hangzhou. A note worth mentioning is that when compared with the "2017 Tianfu Financial Index," Chengdu's competitiveness advantage in rural village finance is still obvious, having been crowned the number one spot again this year. In addition, in rankings for aspects such as financial institution, human resource, scientific and technological finance, and green finance, Chengdu also scored pretty well.
The "2018 Tianfu Financial Index" is compiled and completed by the International Monetary Institute of the Renmin University of China, and subjects of the rating include China’s four direct-administered municipalities, 26 provincial and regional capital cities (except for Lhasa) and five cities specifically listed in national socio-economic development plan. The index is comprised of the eight sub indices of financial market, financial institution, business environment, human resource, scientific and technological finance, green finance, cultural finance and rural village finance, while consumer finance and digital financial inclusion have been added as emerging financial formats under observation.
