On March 22, 2018, the Chengdu Management Committee of the Tianfu New Area revealed that after nearly a year of meticulous preparation, on the verge of the first year anniversary of the foundation of the Sichuan Free Trade Experimental Area, the General Administration of Customs, Ministry of Finance, State Administration of Taxation and State Administration of Foreign Exchange jointly issued the announcement that the Bonded Logistics Zone (Type B) in Chengdu Section of the Tianfu New Area has been sanctioned for establishment.
The Bonded Logistics Zone (Type B) in Chengdu Section of the Tianfu New Area is located in the Emerging Industries Industrial Park of the Tianfu New Area, and its approved area for establishment measures approximately 130,000 square meters. To be funded, constructed and operated by the Chengdu Tianfu New Area Investment Group Co., Ltd., the project has been earmarked for a total investment of roughly RMB 500 million. Plans call for the construction of bonded logistics warehousing, customs inspection venue, customs supervision warehousing and general service building. After its completion, the project will handle functions such as bonded logistics, warehousing, global procurement, international distribution and transit trade, and serve the core zone of the Sichuan Free Trade Area and surrounding regions. It will also act as a major pillar underpinning Tianfu New Area's promotion of supply side reforms and Sichuan Province's endeavor in creating a "One Belt One Road" opening-up high ground.
