On December 31, 2017, the "Ten-Nation Globetrotters Usher in New Year with Tai Chi at Laojun Pavilion" public welfare activity was held inside the Mount Qingcheng Scenic Area. Under the guidance of Liu Suibin, chief of the Qingcheng Sect, ten foreign globetrotters ushered in the new year by practicing Tai Chi at Laojun Pavilion at the foot of Mount Qingcheng, after which they enjoyed a close encounter with the giant pandas at the Dujiangyan Panda Park.
Since the "Ten-Nation Globetrotters Usher in New Year with Tai Chi at Laojun Pavilion" public welfare activity commenced in December 2017, the campaign has received widespread acclaim from many foreign visitors, and "Usher in New Year with Tai Chi at Mount Qingcheng's Laojun Pavilion" has risen as a hot topic on Facebook. According to statistics provided by the campaign's organization committee, this activity received applications from a total of over 200 overseas tourists from more than 20 countries. "For this campaign, among the many applications we selected ten applicants with the hope that their participation can enable them to better understand Chinese culture, see the giant pandas up close and personal, and spend perfect last days of 2017 on Mount Qingcheng," relevant person in charge of the campaign's organization committee explained.
