Thai Consulate-General in Chengdu Hosted Thai National Day Reception

On December 4, 2017, in order to commemorate the birthday of the late King Bhumidol Adulyadej of Thailand, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chengdu held a National Day Reception. Vice Chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Political Consultative Conference Cui Baohua attended the event, addressed the audience and delivered auspicious wishes to the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chengdu and the Thai population in Chengdu. In his speech, Cui Baohua indicated that the cordial relations between Sichuan and Thailand has strengthened over the years, frequency of personnel exchanges and interactions has risen, and cooperation in areas like economy, finance and culture have extended farther and deeper. In the first ten months of 2017, total trade between Sichuan and Thailand reached USD 1.276 billion, a year-on-year growth of 33%. Cui stated that Sichuan is willing to team up with Thailand in jointly assimilating into the construction of the "Belt and Road" so as to continually inject new fuel into and seek new progress in the Sichuan-Thai relations.
