The China Health Development Research Institute was set up on Jan 5 in Wenjiang district, Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province.The establishment of the research institute was a result of the cooperation of the Wenjiang district government, the Peking University China Center for Health Economic Research, and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
The research institute is in charge of three centers for studying policies, big data bases and human resources for the health industry. Its purpose is to aid in the development of the health industry in Wenjiang district and build a high-level think tank providing support to the whole country.
Wang Daoming, head of Wenjiang district, said the research institute was expected to provide technology and talent support for the development of Chengdu Medical City, an industrial cluster for the local health industry.
Meanwhile, the government, the Peking University China Center for Health Economic Research, and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics plan to strengthen cooperation in attracting investment, supplying financial products, and cultivating more experts.
