The 17th OHTC Takes Place

On September 10, 2018, the 17th Western China Overseas High Tech and High Talents Conference (OHTC) was held in Chengdu.
This year's OHTC is held under the central theme of "Leading by Innovation, Intellectual Pool of Overseas Chinese" and will see attendance from approximately 800 Chinese and foreign guests including five Nobel Prize laureates, 188 domestic and foreign academicians and 148 overseas innovation teams.
The OHTC Tianfu Forum was held during the opening ceremony. Winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology of Medicine Edvard Moser, Academician Parker of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and the Academy of Science of the Royal Society of Canada, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology of Medicine Sir John Bertrand Gurdon, Prigogine Gold Medal recipient, Academician with the Institute of Human Ecology and foreign Academician with the Russian Academy of Sciences Larry Bai-lian Li and Pro-Vice Chancellor for Global Engagement at University of Nottingham Nick Miles respectively delivered speeches and addressed the audience. During the opening ceremony, the 2018 "Tianfu Friendship Award" was conferred to five foreign experts who have made tremendous contributions to Sichuan's socio-economic progress, and prizes were presented to winners of the 4th "OHTC Cup" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Global Overseas Hi-tech and High Talents.
