Chengdu Airport Handles 68000 Outbound Passengers Before New Year Holiday

On December 27, 2017, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport braced for a mini peak in New Year holiday passenger traffic. The Chengdu Airport organized a total of 958 flight arrivals and departures, 29 more than December 25th and 26th, and 83 flights more than the 875 arrivals and departures recorded on December 27 of the previous year, a yearly rise of 9.5%. Of these, long-distance outbound tourists were mostly destined for cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, while short-distance passengers were bound for destinations such as Guiyang, Kunming, Dali and Lijiang. It is estimated that this mini peak will last until December 29, 2017, with the number of flights arranged and the number of outbound passengers to climb in each of the next two days, while January 2, 2018, is expected to be the busiest time for returning travelers.
